After a frenetic month, my husband and I decided to relax and plan a little staycation in Santa Monica. We partnered with the Oceana Santa Monica Hotel, a newly renovated small luxury boutique hotel in Santa Monica. Oceana Santa Monica is a quiet haven located in a residential area on Ocean avenue and is only a few steps away from the main Santa Monica attractions.
A small luxury boutique hotel in Los Angeles with beach view
What we have loved the most about the Oceana was its intimate and very calm atmosphere. This chic boutique hotel counts 70 rooms, and all the amenities (outdoor patio with a pool, indoor/outdoor restaurant, spa, fitness studio, yoga classes, etc.) are for guests only. We stayed in one of the ocean-view suites, which was very refreshing and relaxing.
A stylish Socal beach retreat
The design of the hotel is a mix of the Californian Beach Homes in the ’60s with a contemporary and arty twist. Anna Busta of Busta Studio in NYC was in charge of the interior design. Our room was very spacious and decorated with high-end furniture, Nepalese rugs, unique artwork commissioned by local Los Angeles artists, luxury Frette linens, and Loro Piana bedding. Also, the bathroom is fabulous. It has a shower and a luxurious soaking tub as well as Bottega Veneta bathroom products.
New Californian cuisine at its best
At night, we chose to dine at the Oceana hotel’s restaurant, specialized in new Californian cuisine. The food was locally sourced from the Santa Monica Farmer’s market and was delicious and very fresh. The chef operating at Oceana is Raphael Lunetta, a prominent Los Angeles chef (If you have been following me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I also love to eat at his other restaurants Lunetta All Day and Lunetta). Oceana exclusively serves its overnight guests and their invitees. The restaurant offers dining options from breakfast through dinner, as well as in-room dining.
Perfect for a family vacay or a romantic getaway
Oceana is a place that I recommend for a luxurious and quiet getaway in Los Angeles. It is ideal for recharging and for getting into the relax SoCal lifestyle.

I love your style. I’m going to need to know where to get that swim suit. The photographs probably don’t do this place justice.
Thanks. the swimsuit is from Agent Provocateur but it is an old collection.

Thanks! It really was
Ummm I need to get here like yesterday. I could use a vacation – and this place looks absolutely unreal. The room is stunning, the products are luxurious, and the food sounds absolutely to die for. Can I just teleport here now?
Excuse me while I go email my husband this link so we can book a stay.

This luxury boutique hotel sounds truly amazing. I would love to stay there but I don’t think it’s within my price range.
Oh my goodness! This looks like an amazing place to stay. The decor is so well thought out and lovely. I’d love to relax for a bit by the pool!
