Spring 2018 Trends – Spring Fashion Week 2018 Coverage
Surprisingly Spring 2018 is darker than usual. Indeed, white and black are the primary color palettes. The use of these two minimal colors is prominent on many runway shows. However, designers emphasize their collection on volume & structure, beautiful drapes and a mix of textures. Speaking of textures: feathers and plastic (clear plastic or vinyl) are definitely the stars of the season.
Regarding prints: graphic black and white prints and plaids are go-to. Whereas the mauve color is doing its come back for spring but on a monochrome silhouette.

These black and white silhouettes are the stars of Spring 2018.
Ton sur Ton – Monochrome: Black / White / Mauve
During the Spring Fashion Week 2018, we saw a lot of monochrome looks (white, black or mauve). To spice up the looks designers played with volume, texture and the accessories.
Feather Fever – Spring Fashion Week 2018
This season, Saint Laurent revealed a beautiful Spring 2018 runway where feathers were the statement. Furthermore, designers Nina Ricci, Ann Demeulemeester, Celine, Alberta Ferretti have also used this beautiful ornament.
Life in plastic is fantastic: Plastic boots, plexi heels, etc.
The plastic is finally a luxury fabric: transparent with clear plastic or glossy as the vinyl. Thus, plastic was the it-piece of several runway shows like Chanel (plastic boots, coats, hats and even gloves), Balmain (plastic heels, vinyl overalls) or Mugler (plexi heels).
Pledge for plaids
This spring, plaids are back and are very playful. Particularly, designers mix this print with stripes (Balenciaga, Fendi) or print it on a sheer fabric (Fendi, Miu Miu).
One Shoulder Dress / Overalls
Revealing a shoulder is a strong spring trend. Designers like Alexandre Vauthier, Fendi, Isabel Marant make a statement with a one-shoulder dress.
Get out! Spring 2018 Outwear
Anorak, bomber, leather or vinyl trench outdate the classic cotton trench (as seen on Tom Ford, Fenty, Isabel Marant).
Accessories Spring 2018 – Details from the Runway
As the color palette is minimal, accessories are bolder this season: Statement earrings, overstacking rings, metallic bags, etc. In addition, it should be noted that on Tom Ford runway, a cat-eye makeup is beautifully replacing jewelry.
